Ming Fen Congdon
Ming Fen is an LA-based Production Designer, and Art Director for Short Films, Music videos, and more.
Adopted from China at age three Ming Fen considers her heritage an important part of her identity, highlighting that her first name, Ming Fen, means the chirping of a cricket.
She studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Salve Regina University. She has had a passion for storytelling ever since her older brother got his first camera and they started making films together. She started working on productions in 2019 as a PA and very quickly learned that she loved building and creating sets for films.
She is very skilled at problem-solving and seeing the beauty in uncommon items. Breaking the standards on what is considered pretty. Ming Fen works hard to build her all-female diverse crew. She has worked as a construction coordinator on a short feature film with Disney and was able to use the skills she learned working with her father building housing.
With the challenges of being an Asian female, she has surpassed others that doubted her ability to lead in a very demanding industry. Her love and drive have gotten her to where she is today, she wouldn’t change any moment.
